What is Circular Economy? Why is this concept suddenly popular?

The goal of Circular Economy, simply put is to radically reduce the extraction of materials and production of waste by using methods like remake, reuse and recycle.

Our economies are getting larger by the day, things are becoming cheaper and more and more natural resources are under extreme stress to keep up with the ever-growing demand of the population. This is no surprise to anyone. So, you’d think people would’ve come up with a solution by now right?

Back to the concept of Circular Economy. Circular, in this case, means creating a loop of production, utilization and waste management. This is a hopeful concept, there are many examples of successful companies that have implemented Circular Economy strategies and not only drastically reduced their environmental impacts but also increase their profits. Sounds too good to be true? Let’s dive in deeper in the next stories.
